No More Worries
Sunday, December 13th, 2009 | Author: Jackie

It wasn’t that long ago when one of my best friends decided to move. Betty and John who worked at my office were both good friends of mine. When John got an offer to work at a better job, they decided to take a gamble and pick up and move. It was a big risk for them at the time, but it seems to have paid off. One of the worries they had was that they would lose their Direct TV service. While it was a big issue at the time, they shouldn’t have worried.

What Betty and John didn’t know was that they could transfer their service to Direct TV in California. That way, they could still enjoy the best television in HD. They had become used to the best way to watch movies and other programming. They also liked the fact that their service was very affordable.

Another thing that John really liked was the comprehensive sports packages that Directv offers. He liked the ability to watch nearly every game on TV. He is a certified sports nut and enjoys watching his games. I am sure that he is probably watching some game now. Now that they are gone, I still miss my friend. I am glad for the both of them though and wish them both the very best.

The Aftermath

Since the Tiger woods story is all over the news, we all knew that there would be repercussions for him. As bad as all the negative media was for his image, now the financial disaster is beginning. The first sponsor to drop Tiger from its rolls is Accenture Ltd. The have stated that he is no longer a person that they wish to represent them. So far, there has been no comment from Tiger on the situation though it is natural that he would be disappointed.

Helping Out!

Every once in a while, something in life turns out for the better; I heard one story of this the other day. My friend who lives down the street is moving to Texas and wanted to take her Direct TV service with her. Thinking that this would be a big problem, she was worried about what a hassle it would be. I thought that I would look into the matter for her as I knew she had a lot on her mind.

I did some searching around on the internet and found out that it’s fairly easy to switch your Directv service to another state. I knew my neighbor would be happy to hear the news and so I went to tell her as soon as possible. She was glad to find that she could continue her service with Direct TV in Texas. She had come to rely on their great service and the benefits of their programming.

The great thing about this company is that they provide so many channels at a low cost and they all come in HD. Whether its international channels or local ones, she gets them all in HD. She also gets the best sports packages around. All in all, she is very happy that she has one less thing to worry about. I was just glad to be able to help out.

Climbing Adventures!!

My niece lives out in California. She is a good girl and very athletic. I was surprised to learn that she wanted to become a mountain climbing guide. I maybe old fashioned, but it seems an odd job for a women to me. Nevertheless, if that’s what she wants to do, I will support her all the way. We were talking about the things that she would need to get started and she listed some of the Mountain Climbing Gear that she wanted. I told her I would help her out as I could.

She sent me a list of items that she was looking at and asked me to pick out something from the list. At first, I thought I would get her the shoes by La Sportiva that she had wrote down. After I got to thinking about though, I decided to look at some of the other things she would need. There were some items that I didn’t even know what they were. I guess you have to be into the sport to understand what these things were used for.

My niece is a very picky person by nature and she insisted that if I got her something, I should get exactly what was on the list. For example, purchasing a rope was not good enough; it would have to be a specific rope from Petzl. I will take her word for it that she knows what she is talking about. I wish her luck in her new career and I really hope the rope doesn’t break!!

Recovery…

Several months ago, one of my co-workers was in a bad car accident. He was not at fault, but the result was that there were serious injuries. A lady on her cell phone blew through a light and T-boned my friend. Thank goodness his kids were not in the car, as he had just dropped them off.

After a lengthy stay in the hospital, he finally came home. He has undergone physical therapy, but has much work to do. Although he did not like many of the exercises he did at the hospital, the one he didn’t mind was aquatic therapy. Because he had always been a water lover, he was predisposed to liking this form of recovery.

Being in possession of some extra cash from the settlement, he has been looking into getting one of those hydrotherapy pools. He feels that the easiest way for him to recover is to do something he likes. The reliability of this form of physical recovery has been well documented. Many famous athletes take advantage of these pools and he feels it will benefit him as well.

In order to best suit his needs, he may have a swim spa installed in his home. He took advantage of its many features at the hospital and has come far in his rehabilitation. Not only has he nearly completely recovered from his injuries, but he feels that he is even healthier than before!

We are all proud of our friend and wish him the best. He will be back to work soon and we are all glad of it!
