Thanks for the post, Kathy Shelton
I really love watching animals at their zaniness. This is easy to do when turning on DirectTV HD DVR Specials to The Animal Planet Channel and watching my favorite show dealing with animals called Weird, True & Freaky.
While some of the situations are just plain funny, others are very poignant and show the spirit and determination of animals. One segment, for example, has a cat who has a rare rear leg deformity but makes up for it by lifting her back legs over her head and walking. It’s emotionally heartwarming to see how that cat found a way to survive.
The segments shown on Weird, True & Freaky vary greatly. Another show focused on animals who were very large, but aren’t supposed to be, like a stray cat that weighs a whopping 35lbs.
The show began in 2008 and it continues to be a reality program that I greatly enjoy. It’s super for kids, too, because not only do they see all kinds of animals, but it’s educational as well, visually teaching them ways to interact with animals plus telling them things that are both healthy or maybe dangerous for animals.
Mostly, each episode contains several segments, often related to one theme, such as the hefty pet outing that the large cat was a part of. A narrator explains the action with specialists adding their thoughts.
