It is always great to hear of a story when the outcome helps someone who has given so much to a community. The story of the Chagrin Hardware Company warms my heart. A man named Jim Black went online and invited 40 of his friends to spend some money at a local hardware store that is near his home.

His friends responded and invited many more friends of their own. Anyway, the store was swamped with customers and had one heck of a great sales day. It is great to see a small business get support from the community.

Santa’s day

I guess Santa is home taking a nap after last night’s work. He must be very tired after delivering all those gifts. He did a good job as our tree was packed with boxes and bags of every description. No one was forgotten and we all had a great time discovering what was inside of the wrapped presents.

We are now getting ready to start cooking and I know that will be fun. Everybody will soon be ready to eat the turkey that is in the oven. It smells so good and the aroma is floating throughout the house. It’s going to be a great day and I hope everyone out there is having a great day as well.

Thanksgiving, wow what a day! Family, friends and all the fixings! I am sure everyone has their favorites for this holiday. Mine, hands down would have to be the smell of turkey roasting in the oven all day.
Many people have a family tradition for this holiday, and many could be very different from yours or mine, but, any way that it is celebrated, it is a great time for family and friends to come together and give thanks.

As many people know. Andy Rooney has been a part of our lives since I was a little boy. His commentaries on many subjects were always truthful and funny. The sad part is that he died recently and our country has lost a great writer.

Andy has won four Emmy Awards for his commentaries which mostly aired on CBS television show 60 Minutes. He has also written many books that have kept people interested in his witty style. We will all miss him and his wit.

Marital Issues

We’ve been having marital problems but I’ve been trying not to talk to anyone about it. There’s something to be said for couples who go to counseling and all that but my husband’s just not that kind of guy and I don’t want all my girlfriends to think less of us and particularly my husband when they hear we’ve been fighting a lot. It’s always over stupid stuff, too, like the other day when I asked him to get me some BioMass information and he didn’t. it’s not like it’s something I couldn’t have done myself but the fact that he didn’t just really got my goat – it’s like the things that are important to me just aren’t important to him. I think sometimes that because I’m a housewife I don’t get as much respect from him as I should but you know, that’s the way it is sometimes. You never know when things will turn around and go back to the way they used to be and that’s the day I’m ultimately looking forward to!

Welcome Isis

We have a new addition in our home. Her name is Isis and she is a cat. She has been wandering around our home for awhile now and we finally decided to take her in. we took her to the vet in order that she could get all her shots. She is all set and the vet says she is very healthy.

She is still learning to get along with our other two cats. One is blackie and the other is minkze. They are all adjusting slowly but I think they’ll be fine. Well, I off to the supermarket to get some more food and treats!

Finding a place to live.

My cousin Eddie has just finished college and is ready to start his career. He is willing to relocate in order to get a good job. It turns out that Canada is the place where all the action is happening in his career field. He went to the internet in order to find Calgary houses and apartments for rent in order to help him find a place to live when he got there. I think he made a good decision to move.

The good thing about the site was that it listed many of the houses and apartments that are for rent in that area. He was able to find out the prices of the homes as well as their location. He also found that he could narrow his search by selecting the price and location he wanted. This made his task quick and easy.

Now that my cousin is starting his new career, he will not have to worry about his housing. I am sure that this will take a lot of stress off of him. I know that he will do well in the future as he is very smart and is able to pick up new ideas quickly. I wish him all the luck in the world and will be proud of everything he does.

Aunt Sherry

One of the favorite people in my life is my aunt sherry. She is so wonderful in many ways and it’s always a joy to see her. I was in her neighborhood and decided to drop by for a few words. She was thrilled to see me and we talked for a good while. One item that came up was her work. She is a nurse and takes care of people all day. It can be a demanding job, but she does it well.

One thing that sets her apart from all the other nurses is her attire. She orders her scrub sets from a site called http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. They have a wide variety of clothes and I think she has most of them. She likes them because they are colorful as well as comfortable. They are a good value and last for a long time. That’s important to her as she needs to save her money for her retirement.

Aunt sherry and I finished our talk and I had to leave soon. It was great seeing her and it was hard to go out the door. I knew I would a plate of goodies to take home with me for the family. I am looking forward to the next time I see her and I am sure many other people feel the same.

No more problems

Some of the more recent news around here is that my cousin Judy is moving to Texas. She was recently married and her new husband has decided to make a serious career change. The problem was that he is very busy all the time and Judy had to find them a house to move into. I thought I would give her a hand and help find just the right place.

I had a week off from work and so I went to Texas. We found a really nice real estate lady who showed us around. We had narrowed our choice down to a few homes but had some reservations. The house we really liked had a few problems. The worst thing was the pet odor that was left behind. Luckily, the real estate lady told us to look at this site called http://www.thesteamteam.com/. They are a reputable company that deals with these kinds of problems.

All we did was to punch in dog odor removal austin and we were on our way. The problem was taken care of and the house was bought. Now Judy has a new home and she and her husband are settling in. I was glad I could help Judy get her new life started. I am sure they will be happy for a long time.

Dad Left it to Me

When dad died last year it was up to me to take over the family business. The bookstore hadn’t really been renovated since he opened it back in the 60s and there are a lot of things I still need to change. The first thing I did was sit down with all six employees and talk to them about what I was going to expect going forward. Things were getting kind of loosey-goosey aftershock and I wanted to make sure it was run like a professional business. I did some research at bank-card-processing.com and decided it was finally time to start accepting credit cards… I can’t believe dad made it this long without caving! Once I finally get all the new computer systems up and running, things should be much better all around. I have a feeling we will bring in much more money and we won’t lose so much to carelessness. I can’t believe I finally found my own business, but it’s really starting to take shape!
