False alarm

A new study came out today that states that nearly 61% of women who get a mammogram will have a false alarm. The good news is that after further testing, many women are found to be healthy. Still, this can be a traumatizing event.

The National Cancer Institute still recommends that women who are over the age of 40 should receive a mammogram at least once every year depending on their family history and other health factors.

Sleep

Sleep is a very important part of our lives. It prepares us for each new day and allows our bodies to heal. Lately, I have not been doing so well in this department and have struggled to get the rest I need. That’s why I looked up a few ways to better my sleeping habits.

One thing is to make sure that the room you are sleeping in is dark. Another is to be sure that the house is quiet. These things will help you ensure that you get better nights sleep and be ready for another day.

Jazzercise

One thing that I have recently found out about is jazzercise. I always thought it was for really overweight people and never thought I would participate myself. It just so happens that one of the girls from work talked me into going with her and I must admit that I had a great time.

It felt good to really work up a sweat. I didn’t realize how much work it was. It looks easy and it is, but in the end you can really end up sore. Anyway, I met a lot of people and the whole thing was a blast. I think I’ll start going on a regular basis.

A nightly massage

Since I have been working so hard lately, I thought that I needed something to help me relax. The days have been long and hard and it’s been a rough last few months. I talked to a friend of mine at work who always seemed relaxed and he told me his secret. He said he had purchased a massage chair and that he used it every night. One thing that’s really important to do on a daily basis is to make sure you drink a lot of water. It’s a major part of your body and making sure you have a steady supply will help you in many ways. In with the good, out with the bad is the old maxim that still holds true. The effects of dehydration are many and can be drastic in some cases. When exercising, drinking enough water is especially important! I hope you will remember this friendly advice!
