Rain

Guest post written by my buddy Angelo Cooper

The weather here has been so yucky for the last week. It is gray and cloudy outside. I haven’t seen the sun for days. The ground is slushy and muddy, and the rain just keeps coming. It’s not even pouring, it’s just like this continuous annoying drizzle. At first I welcomed the weather change, and found it cozy. I got a lot done indoors, like cleaning and baking bread. I finished a book I had been reading for awhile. I organized our closets. Now, I’m growing weary of the rain, and find myself spending hours in front of direct tv stamford. I have some books I need to return to the library, though, so I may get out in a little bit. I need to run by the grocery store and pick up some things for dinner this week as well. It’s just so much harder to do normal errands when it is raining outside. It is good, though, that we are getting rain. We’ve been in a drought off and on for the last few years.

The costs of oil
Sunday, February 26th, 2012 | Author:

In the near future the giant oil company BP will be in court. They are liable for the damages caused by their huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. They are hoping to work out a deal beforehand on the amount of money they should pay. I hope it is a lot.

Whatever the outcome of the deal making is, the company stands to lose many billions of dollars. The must pay for lawsuits from individuals and companies, environmental costs, and lost production as many wells are still shut down. Like the spill itself, it going to be a mess.

Super bowl Sunday
Sunday, February 05th, 2012 | Author:

It’s that time of year again when everybody will be in front of their TV sets. The Super bowl is finally here and I am sure that it will be a great game. I am looking forward to the halftime show as well as the funny commercials that are always on.

My sons are having a few people over to our house and I plan to have a few snacks on hand for them. I am sure they will enjoy them. Food is always a hit with the guys and I am glad to see them eat.

My Kids

My kids really like MTV and I don’t mind it that much but the show I like for them to watch the best is MADE. We recently got Direct TV Jacksonville and it’s a new channel for our family and I was really worried about the affect the show would have on my kids because I had heard MTV was just a horrible influence. As it turns out though, MADE is a really great show that teaches them they can be whatever they want to be and it’s got great lessons on setting goals and working for them. Who would have thought at this point in my life I’d be letting my kids watch an hour of TV a day? I’ve always been the one who was morally opposed to TV but you know, I guess it does offer some value as long as you know what your kids are watching. It’s important to note that all shows aren’t bad, just some, you’ve just got to stay on it.

Traffic woes
Wednesday, February 01st, 2012 | Author:

One thing about the area in which I live is that the traffic is not all that bad on a good day. But there are times when it seems to be backed up for little or no reason. Today was one of those days. I was riding to work when I ran into a giant traffic jam. It tried my patience for sure.

The worst part about the whole experience is that I saw no reason for the pileup in the first place. Maybe the accident was cleared before I got there or the emergency was over with. Whatever the reason, I was still stuck. Some things just don’t make any sense.
