No service
Sunday, July 26th, 2009 | Author: Jackie

I received an email that described the details about what causes the computer attacks known as “denial of service”. I thought it was interesting and so I decided to pass along the gist of the article. Whenever you receive this message, this is what may be happening.

These are attacks on a server by hackers. They write codes that take over people’s computers and cause them to send repeated requests to a certain server. The server is in turn overloaded and can no longer perform its job. That’s a very basic explanation, but it’s the main source of the problem. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot you can do to prevent it except for making sure your computer is guarded. I hope you have security measures in place!

Using space wisely

Since our office has limited space, we have been looking for new ways to utilize the space we have. We ended up ordering a workbench and it has worked out well. It turns out that a lot of space can be saved by utilizing the proper equipment. We were glad to find a company called formaspace.com that specialized in making all forms of custom furniture.

The best part about the whole deal was that it was delivered so quickly. It seemed that no sooner than we had ordered it, it had arrived. The bench has proven to be useful in a variety of ways. We have several employees who want a bench of their own. Now that we know what the benefits of using this service are, we will be able to take advantage of it in the future.

Nutrition

One thing that I am very concerned about at our house is proper nutrition. The kids seem to believe that they can eat anything they want anytime they want. With so many fast-food restaurants around, it’s hard to control their meals. In order to regain some control over the situation, I’ve begun to plan our meals every week. This has enabled me to have some say in the foods we consume.

The kids were leery at first, but they seem to have adapted to the new routine well. I have set out a clear message that I intend to make sure they eat healthier meals and it’s working so far. We all know about apples and oranges and I believe that the old adages about food are true. We’ll see who triumphs in this battle for health!

A nightly massage

Since I have been working so hard lately, I thought that I needed something to help me relax. The days have been long and hard and it’s been a rough last few months. I talked to a friend of mine at work who always seemed relaxed and he told me his secret. He said he had purchased a massage chair and that he used it every night. The chair had become a refuge for him and he loved the things it did for him.

I started thinking about getting a chair for myself. I wasn’t sure at first, but I started looking into the situation and was surprised to find the Massage Chair Benefits are many. First of all, the chairs can reduce your stress levels to a minimum. They can melt away your troubles simply by using it a few minutes a day. Another benefit is the relief of chronic pain. Many people suffer from conditions of lower back pain that can be reduced by taking advantage of these chairs.

I decided to get a chair of my own and was delighted with the results. I sit in my chair every night and have noticed how much better I feel. I sleep better at night and my energy levels have risen. I think it’s a great way to keep up your overall health and stay pain free. I believe that everyone should at least give these chairs a try and see how it affects your life. I think you’ll be surprised.

Republicans say enough
Sunday, July 26th, 2009 | Author: Jackie

The republicans in the house and senate put their foot down on the question of further stimulus funds. Criticizing President Barack Obama’s spending bill, they say the stimulus has not done what it was supposed to do. The battle over the record setting amount of money being spent is reaching a climax and both sides are posturing for public support. The questions about the economy rage on and all people are affected by the outcome of the policy makers. I say hold on to your hats!
