As we usually go to the store each week, we were surprised at the amount of money we spent this week. I think our problem was that we took the entire family. After each person had picked out the items that they wanted, the cart was full to overflowing. I am glad that we were able to use up a lot of coupons we had saved, but it didn’t seem to make a dent in the final bill.

I think that next time we will have to have more self control. It’s ok to splurge now and then, but this is getting ridiculous. I know that we have to stay on some kind of a budget and this week’s grocery bill didn’t help at all! I also believe that next time we go; we will leave the kids at home!!

My Aunt Helen loves to play the lottery. She has been playing it for years. She is always talking about what she is going to do when she wins the mega millions lottery. I really hope her dreams come true and she will be able to do everything she plans. I like to play the lottery as well, but I am always afraid that I will miss the winning number.

I heard about a website that will automatically send the winning numbers right to your phone. All you have to do is sign up for the service and you will never have to worry about buying a paper to see if you hit! I think this is a great idea and it will certainly make it a lot easier to play. Now let me think what I would do if I won…

On the second Sunday of each May, the world joins in a celebration of the sacrifices our mothers made for us. Thanks to Anne Marie Jarvis who dedicated her life to establishing this day to her own mother, we are all able to enjoy the blessings of this occasion. I know that everyone would be proud to offer their thanks for all the things moms do.

To my own mom, I want to say thanks for everything you do. Knowing that no matter what happens, you will always be there for me is a comfort. I sincerely hope that you understand how deep my love for you runs. You have made my life a special one and words cannot express my gratitude for your efforts. I hope you have a wonderful day reflecting in the knowledge that your child loves you so!

My niece lives out in California. She is a good girl and very athletic. I was surprised to learn that she wanted to become a mountain climbing guide. I maybe old fashioned, but it seems an odd job for a women to me. Nevertheless, if that’s what she wants to do, I will support her all the way. We were talking about the things that she would need to get started and she listed some of the Mountain Climbing Gear that she wanted. I told her I would help her out as I could.

She sent me a list of items that she was looking at and asked me to pick out something from the list. At first, I thought I would get her the shoes by La Sportiva that she had written down for me. After I got to thinking about though, I decided to look at some of the other things she would need. There were some items that I didn’t even know what they were. I guess you have to be into the sport to understand what these things were used for.

My niece is a very picky person by nature and she insisted that if I got her something, I should get exactly what was on the list. For example, purchasing a rope was not good enough; it would have to be a specific rope from Petzl. I will take her word for it that she knows what she is talking about. I wish her luck in her new career and I really hope the rope doesn’t break!!
