One year today…

I wanted to congratulate my friend Nancy who has been drink free for one year today. Nancy sought help for her addiction to alcohol and is doing well to stay off it. Many people suffer from the misbelief that women cannot be alcoholics. This is not the case. This disease affects all types of people no matter their race, creed, or color.

I am proud of Nancy and give her my wholehearted support. She is a great person and I know that she will continue to fight against the effects of this potentially deadly condition. I sincerely hope that everyone will support the efforts of these people to overcome their conditions and resume a normal life. Keep it up Nancy!

With the economy in such bad shape this year, I’ve heard of many people who are struggling. My friend Pam is one of those people. After she asked me for some advice, I was more than willing to help. Pam has a fairly high debt load. She has a number of bills to pay and can hardly keep up. I told her to look into Debt Consolidation, as a potential way to take the load off. I think it would be a good thing for her.

I informed her that there is a company online that could help. It is called thecreditexchange.com. While they will not handle her debt, they can assess her situation and recommend a solution. They have a number of services to help people who need to manage their debt. I’m sure that Pam will be glad she used this unique service to her advantage. I know that she will soon be on the road to success!

Let the Truth Shine…

One site that I often use is Consumer reports.org. They provide ratings and recommendations on nearly everything a consumer would wish to buy. Before I make a purchase of a household item, I usually check to see where it is rated. I have found that they are pretty close to the mark in most instances.

I really trust this organization as their reputation is their most valuable asset. They compare the most popular brands and will let you know how they stack up. I would always consult them before making a big purchase. I am glad there is a company whose main goal is to protect consumer’s rights and challenges those who do not conform to the publics wishes.

Out with the old…

As I used to work in the construction field, I still do some side work from time to time. Recently, I was invited to work on a kitchen remodeling job. A friend of mine wanted to redo his countertops and cabinets. I was more than happy to take on the extra work. We discussed the things he wanted changed and we laid plans to do so.

After the work had started, we discovered that there was one topic we had failed to talk about. That was in the area of kitchen sinks. I explained to him that it would not be a problem and that I knew a good place to find one. I told him about sinkusa.com and the selection of sinks they had. I thought it would be good to get a under mount sink as they have a great look.

I further explained that getting a stainless steel sink was the normal practice. They are very durable, affordable, and easy to clean. The best part about this type of sink is that it goes with almost any décor. When the job was finished, Eric was very satisfied with the results. The new kitchen looks great and sink is a beauty. I am glad I was able to do the job and was happy to walk away with a good feeling!
