What time is it?

Walking through the house the other day, I notice that that where ever I stand, I can see two clocks with different times. The stove clock says three o’clock and the microwave says four! The clock in the living room doesn’t match the one in the dining room. One clock just blinks 12.00.

I try to keep my alarm clock correct because it’s more important to me, and the ones on the computer are usually right. But its pot luck with any other clock in the house! I guess I have some resetting to do!

Two of the girls at my office have birthday’s this week. Linda’s is on Monday and Robin’s is on Friday. Since it has been so hectic around the office lately, we decided to have one big party on Wednesday for the both of them.

We all agreed to skip a cake and had like a cream of mushroom soup that Lisa brought in and a large bowl of salad that we shared. It worked out really nicely for everybody. The best part is that my birthday is in April and I will have a party all to myself!

Recovery…

Several months ago, one of my co-workers was in a bad car accident. He was not at fault, but the result was that there were serious injuries. A lady on her cell phone blew through a light and T-boned my friend. Thank goodness his kids were not in the car, as he had just dropped them off.

After a lengthy stay in the hospital, he finally came home. He has undergone physical therapy, but has much work to do. Although he did not like many of the exercises he did at the hospital, the one he didn’t mind was aquatic therapy. Because he had always been a water lover, he was predisposed to liking this form of recovery.

Being in possession of some extra cash from the settlement, he has been looking into getting one of those hydrotherapy pools. He feels that the easiest way for him to recover is to do something he likes. The reliability of this form of physical recovery has been well documented. Many famous athletes take advantage of these pools and he feels it will benefit him as well.

In order to best suit his needs, he may have a swim spa installed in his home. He took advantage of its many features at the hospital and has come far in his rehabilitation. Not only has he nearly completely recovered from his injuries, but he feels that he is even healthier than before!

We are all proud of our friend and wish him the best. He will be back to work soon and we are all glad of it!

Having a drink…
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009 | Author:

Today is World Water Day. Launched by United Nations General Assembly it was first celebrated in 1993. The main purpose of this holiday is to draw attention to the plight of millions of people who lack clean drinking water. Just as important as a lack of drinking water is the lack of proper sanitation procedures.

There are many organizations that support this cause. Water Aid is one of the largest. Other groups include Care, Ethos water, and Unicef. I encourage all people to check their local event calendars to find out about a walking event in support of this noble cause. We tend to take water for granted; we must remember that all people should have the same basic necessities as us.

Fun in the woods

My son Kyle is into paintball. It’s all the rage with the kids these days. Kyle and his friends go to the local paintball course. The boys especially enjoy dressing up like soldiers when they play. He has all kinds of gear he wears. He has Khakis and a face shield and boots.

It’s easy to buy for Kyle on his birthday now. He always wants more paintball gear. Now he wants something called Malice Clips. I asked what it was and he said they are used to attach different pieces of equipment together. I told him that there were many other things that he could have, but he insists that’s what he wants. Well OK, thanks for saving me the time and trouble of shopping for your birthday!
